When troubles come tapping and knock on your door,
And fear starts to whisper, “You can’t take much more,”
Don’t wiggle or worry, don’t fret or take flight.
God is your shield in the darkest of night.
He’s faithful, unshaken, forever the same.
He strengthens your heart when you call on his name.
When evil comes creeping or tries to sneak in,
God stands like a soldier. He won’t let it win.
He’s stronger than monsters and sneaky old lies.
He’s bigger than bullies and higher than the skies.
When you feel you’re so small and about to fall through,
God says, “I am faithful, and I’ll carry you.”
So stand up with courage and bring out your sword—
The sword of the Spirit, the truth of the Lord.
No shadow can scare you. No villain can win,
When God fights beside you again and again.
