The Way to Go

You will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way to go. Walk in that direction,” and you will turn to the right or left as you are led. — Isaiah 30:21 The Discussion Bible

When you’re stuck at crossroads and don’t know what to do,
When left looks too loopy and right looks askew,
When the map is smudged and your compass is broken,
You’re wondering which path you should be takin’.

Just hush for a moment. Be still and don’t fear.
There’s a voice, soft and steady, that you will hear.
Not loud like a trumpet, not sharp like a bell,
But a whisper that nudges and knows you so well.

“This is the way—yes, the path right for you.
Now go in that direction. It’s straight and true.
Turn left if I lead you. Turn right when I say.
Just don’t go alone. No, I’ll show you the way.”

You won’t need a floodlight or big flashing sign.
Just trust God’s GPS as truly divine.
For when you feel lost, unsure, or alone,
Remember the One who calls you his own.

Skip in your running shoes or stroll in your boots,
Through deserts or gardens or gravelly routes.
You’re never alone, so there’s need to delay.
God will even recalculate to guide you each day.
