We don’t have to guess. We don’t have to fear.
Our prayers aren’t lost, for the Lord’s near to hear.
We have this great confidence, solid and true:
He listens to all that aligns with his view.
If we ask for a boat, just to drift far away,
He might gently whisper, “That’s not the best way.”
But if we say, “Lord, let your will be done,”
He nods with delight, saying, “Yes, my dear one.”
He’s not a big genie who grants every whim,
For he’s wiser and kinder. We’re safest with him.
We should ask for courage, for love, and for peace,
And for kindness and wisdom, which will never cease.
When our wants match his will, when our hearts beat as one,
Our prayers will shine with power like rays from the sun.
So pray with bold faith, not with doubt or dismay.
He hears what is right and acts in his own way.
