There’s a place up above that is shining and bright,
Where love fills the day and there’s no need for night.
It’s peaceful. It’s joyful. It’s perfect and true.
And God made a spot there for me and for you.
But listen up closely. Please don’t turn away.
There’s something important I just have to say:
Not everyone enters with joy in the air,
Some ways of behaving won’t fly over there.
If you’re greedy or sneaky, or lie and pretend,
If you cheat or abuse or fake being friends,
If your heart’s full of selfishness, pride, or deceit—
Those actions won’t take you down Heaven’s streets.
But wait. Don’t despair. There’s good news ahead.
Our hearts can be changed by the One who once bled.
He died for our wrongs, and he rose from the grave,
To show us that he is the One who can save.
So leave all the wrong and step into what’s right.
Walk in God’s love and stay close to the light.
Be honest and kind and loving and true.
Let Jesus’ boundless love work a miracle in you.
For Heaven’s not earned by the things that we do,
But our lives will reflect what we hold to be true.
So live like you’re his, with your heart in the right place—
And one day you’ll walk through the gates full of grace.
