Take Heart

Strengthen the hands of the weak and the knees of the feeble. Say to the fainthearted, “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear, for your God is coming with vengeance to bring retribution and save you.” — Isaiah 35:3–4 The Discussion Bible

When your hands feel shaky, and your knees feel weak,
When your heart is afraid and too tired to speak,
Lift up your eyes and open your ears.
There’s news from above to cast out your fears.

Say aloud to the timid, “Be strong. Do not hide.
Your God is coming. He’s right by your side.
With justice and power, he’ll come to defend,
With mercy and love that will never, ever end.”

He’ll right every wrong. He’ll wipe every tear.
He’ll brighten the shadows and calm your fear.
So rise up, dear soul, with courage and song,
For your Savior is coming, and it won’t be long.
