Dealing with Dirt

As a father has compassion for his children, so the Lord cares more for those who revere him, for he knows how we were made. He remembers making us out of dirt. — Psalm 103:13–14 The Discussion Bible

Like a dad with a hug or a soft bedtime song,
The Lord shows his care when life feels all wrong.
He sees every stumble, each scrape, and each fall,
And says, “Don’t you worry. I’ve been through it all.”

He knows we are fragile. We’re not made of steel.
We’re brought out of the earth and made so real.
He doesn’t get mad when we wiggle or squirm—
But just teaches us gently, one lesson per term.

He formed us from dirt—yes, right from the ground,
Then breathed in his life with his love so profound.
And now when we honor him, humble and true,
He wraps us in mercy like the warm morning dew.

So don’t be afraid if you’re feeling quite small,
God made us from dirt … but he treasures us all.
He sees every speck, every wrinkle and scar,
And still he delights in the dirt that we are.
