Thanks for Weakness

I take pleasure in weakness, insults, and hardships. Persecuted, frustrated, suffering for Christ’s sake, I am thankful for my weakness that makes me strong in him. — 2 Corinthians 12:10 The Discussion Bible

I don’t like the troubles, the bumps, or the stings,
But guess what? I’ve learned they are marvelous things.
When life gets all messy, when life feels all wrong,
It’s there I discover where I can be strong.

When people insult me or push me around,
When problems pile up, and they’re starting to mound,
When I’m weak, when I wobble, when I’m feeling quite small,
It’s Jesus who shows me that he’s stronger than all.

I’ll thank him for troubles, for hardships and pain,
For in every struggle, there’s so much to gain.
When I suffer for Christ, I don’t crumble or fall.
His strength lifts me up and outshines it all.

So bring on the bumps, the insults, the tests.
For when I am weak, he gives me his best.
I’ll smile in weakness. I’ll shout in my lack—
Because Jesus is strong, and he’s got my back.
