The Presence of God

Inspiring
What’s the difference between thanksgiving, praise, and worship?
Enter his gates with thanksgiving, his courts with praise. Be thankful for his gifts, and praise him for his loving nature. The Lord’s goodness is beyond measure. His love and faithfulness will never end. — Psalm 100:4–5 The Discussion Bible
  • We enter the Temple gates with thanksgiving, which is expressing our appreciation for God’s gifts.
  • We enter his court with praise, which is recognizing God’s goodness, love, and grace.
  • We enter the holy of holies when we our spirit communicates with God’s Spirit, in perfect harmony.

Or to say it poetically:
The Holy of Holies
We enter the gates with a shout and a song,
Thanking our God as we skip right along.
For gifts he has given, so many, so bright,
We’re grateful to him, both day and night.
Then into his courts, with praise we proclaim: .
Our God is so good, so kind, always the same. .
His love is forever. His grace never ends. .
He’s better than the best, our Savior and Friend.
The deeper we go, where few dare to trod, .
Into the holiest of holies, we meet in Spirit. .
No words are required, no speech to rehearse—.
Just our heart’s cry to him with heavenly verse.
In harmony perfect, like rivers that rhyme, .
We dwell in God’s presence, beyond space and time. .
Our souls are awakened, our burdens released, .
In the stillness of glory, we’re flooded with peace.
