Week 5/9/25

Frank’s Random Thoughts for the Week

Keep what you like as your own. Discard the rest.

  • Salvation is about sinless living, not just avoiding Hell.
  • “Love” is a euphemism for something we don’t know how to define, because the fullness of its meaning can only be understood as our relationship with the Lord intensifies.
  • When people have nothing to hide, they can always tell the truth.
  • Without God’s help, I’m not smart enough to know what needs to be done, let alone how to do it.
  • My ignorance is a wide open door for God to provide answers—but only if I’m listening to him.
  • There is no better pattern for perfect human behavior than what Jesus said and did when he walked on Earth.
  • The most important answer to hear from God is to know that everything is going to be all right.
  • The right kind of asking will ultimately produce what God wants—and that will satisfy what I want, better than having what I want.
  • The more we fear, the more we make it true in our minds.
  • Instead of telling God what I want, which he already knows, I need to ask what he wants, which I don’t always know.
  • Heaven can be called home only when that’s where we belong.
  • Fulfilling God’s vision is possible only after we have surrendered our vision and have embraced whatever he wants.
  • Hunger is wonderful when it seeks the Lord for satisfaction.
  • After recognizing a problem and discovering an answer, I still need God’s help to say and do exactly what God wants.
  • God who is out of this world has a place for us that is out of this world.
  • People have such a desperate need to be appreciated, they fret over what even their enemies think of them.
  • God often whispers instead of shouting so we will focus our ears and listen.
  • Before we receive forgiveness for our sin, we must recognize our wrong desires and repent, seeking not to be the person we have been.
  • Writing is good if it works and bad if it doesn’t, but it can always be made better.
  • When free from the desires of our self-serving flesh, we are free to enjoy the great spiritual thrill of pleasing the Lord.
  • Life’s most important lesson teaches our need for God—if we’re willing to learn.
  • God works with every person on Earth in a different way because each of us is a special creation, called to fulfill a unique purpose.
  • As we surrender our lives to him, God can make miracles out of our messes.
  • God deserves our very best, and with his help, doing our best is always better than anything we could do on our own.
  • Temptation is the opportunity to believe and do something other than what you know is right.
  • I most enjoy the most difficult, trying times of life, which is finishing—not the easy part, which is starting.
