Unconditional Surrender

Inspiring
After a devastating battle with a foreign nation, no longer wanting to resist the invader, the defeated king sought favorable conditions for surrender. By serving the foreign king, the people were given life and peace. When we reject Satan’s temptation for independence and unconditionally surrender to the Lord, we can enjoy his peace forever.

Completely surrender your will to whatever God wants. What you ought to say is this: “Whatever the Lord wants—that’s what I live to do each day.” Sin is failure to do the good you know you should do.
— James 4:7, 15, 17

Ten Thoughts to Ponder

  1. To fulfill God’s plan for my life, my best won’t be good enough without his help.
  2. I must trust the Lord’s guidance, because the greatest danger comes from the threats we cannot see.
  3. I respect people’s opinions, even when they are wrong, for they have a God-given right to them.
  4. After I give out, give in, and give up, God has what he needs in me for a miracle.
  5. “I know I can’t” is an important admission for making all things possible with God.
  6. Since I don’t understand myself well, my confidence comes from knowing that God does, and he will direct my steps.
  7. Who we are is much more important than how we look.
  8. With what God can do in our lives, we would rightly have a name better than the one we were given at birth.
  9. If we faithfully see the process to the end, the Holy Spirit will restore us to God’s image that we have lost.
  10. The most magnificent self-directed plan cannot be as good as the worst of all God-directed plans.
